4. Trip At The Brain

This gem of an EP boasts a thicker and more focused tone that the band's last outing 'Ballet Of The Brute.' HateSphere have moved to a new label, SPV, and their first outing for the worldwide giant is determined, blustering storm of shit-kicking metal that will plaster your mug against the nearest wall with its focused, driving intensity. You'll find three brand new HateSphere cuts here and an eloquently aggressive remake of the Suicidal Tendencies favorite, 'Trip At The Brain.' The group's sound here is more thrash based than it has been as of late, with Henrik Bastrup and Peter Lyse Hansen turning in some fully automatic speed metal riffing as well as locking in with drummer Anders Gyldenohr and bassist Mikael Ehlert for some massive power grooving. If you're a die hard Suicyco, you should be able to appreciate the band's cover version of 'Trip At The Brain'. Although this is not a note for note cover (especially when considering the solo in the middle break and the freak rap that Mike Muir used to close the tune), HateSphere still manage to pull it off, thrashing this cut out madly. Each of the other three new tracks, 'Murderous Intent', 'You're The EnemY' and 'The Will Of 6od' sound like a car crash between Pantera, Hatebreed and At The Gates. In other words, this is a damn heavy taste of a refined sound that seems to get better with every release as the Sphere definitely get down with a powerful dose of Hate that is sure to please the moshing masses! Top it all off with a superb cover layout courtesy of JaKa's own Christof Kather and you have one hell of a mini metal package. Put simply, 'The Killing EP' kills.
