HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posted the following blog at the band's MySpace page:
"Bow to the King!
The concert highlight of the spring took place yesterday; KING DIAMOND rolled through town. I had been looking forward to this for a long time, and my expectations were really high. The band absolutely did not disappoint! Beginning with 'Funeral' and a choice selection of Abigail hits, the crowd was in a frenzy from the second the lights went down. Continuing through the band's illustrious career, with two MERCYFUL FATE classics to complement the unbelievable set list, they fired off hits like 'Welcome Home', 'The Invisible Guest', 'Sleepless Nights', 'Eye Of The Witch' plus the obligatory couple of tracks from latest studio album The Puppet Master. Towards the end of the show, they were joined on stage by Mikkey Dee (who played on the first four King Diamond albums, for those of you who are in the dark) for what apparently was the first time in 18 years, blasting through 'Halloween'. MF's 'Evil' finished off the set, and my voice. I find it impossible not to sing along to the music of King Diamond, and judging by the response the band received on this night, neither did the 800 or so in attendance. King's vocals were remarkably good, and the sound was excellent as well. Great, great concert!"
